District Elections

District 2 map_fade.jpg

Davis City Council members will be elected by district starting with the November 3, 2020 election. During fall 2019, the City of Davis completed a process to transition from at-large elections to by-district elections. This means that voters will vote only in their district of residence for one candidate.

As part of this process, City Council elections were also moved from June to November of even-numbered years. You can learn more about the transition process by visiting the City of Davis Transition to District Elections page.

City Council elections will continue to occur every two years, with either two or three seats elected to four-year terms. At the November 3, 2020 election, voters will be electing council members in Districts 2, 3, and 5. Districts 1 and 4 will hold elections in November 2022.
